How to Take Good Care of Yourself

When you’re feeling down, or overwhelmed, or just generally need a breather, it’s easy to be hard on yourself - but so important to take it easy. Whether you settle in for a relaxing bath, take a light walk to get your body moving, or snuggle up onto the couch in your Fuzzy Babbas for a little while, here are some of our favorite tips for how to take good care of yourself.

Enjoy a Bubble Bath

When you need to give your mind a little break, a warm bubble bath can be just the thing to help you unwind. You can pour in a ready-made bubble bath mix from the store, or make your own recipe from water, castile soap and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Draw the bath, add the soap, and enjoy some quiet solitude.

Listen to Soothing Music

Surely you’ve heard the quote, “music is the soundtrack to your life.” Music really has the magical ability to help us feel better, which is why so many of us turn on our favorite songs when we’re feeling down. When you want to practice a little self care, try an uplifting playlist that inspires you!

Stretch Softly

If you’re feeling stressed, you might be holding a lot of tension in your shoulders without knowing it. Try to take some time out of your day to do light stretches that will help ease the tightness in your neck and shoulders. It also might help to go for a light walk to loosen up your body, and help relax your mind.

Put on an Outfit that Makes You Smile

While you don’t need to go out and buy a ballgown, sometimes putting on a special outfit can make you feel really good about yourself. Whether you have plans or not, a shirt with a funny message or a fun pair of fuzzy slippers can make your day so much brighter!

Watch a Silly Movie

Whether you want to feel better after a crummy day, or make a good day even better, you really can’t go wrong with a silly movie that makes you belly laugh! This roundup of comedies you can watch on Netflix is a nice place to start.

Give Yourself a Break

A lot of us are always trying to do everything for everyone, and that can leave us not only really tired, but also feeling less-than-chipper. One of the keys to taking good care of yourself is to know when to give yourself a break, not just in your routine, but also in your mind! Remember that you don’t have control over everything in the world. Take deep breaths, and move along.
